Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Communications and Content Specialist to join our team for a period of 4 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in navigating our online presence, creating engaging content, and promoting our educational initiatives and organizational values. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission and drive meaningful change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy for online platforms, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
- Curate, create, and edit engaging content for various channels, including social media, website, blog, and publications.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and insights on ongoing projects, initiatives, and achievements to be shared with the public.
- Manage the organization’s publications, ensuring high-quality materials that effectively communicate our mission and impact.
- Enhance the organization’s visibility by implementing strategies to raise awareness and engage a broader audience.
- Foster public transparency and accountability by sharing accurate and timely information about our projects, goals, and outcomes.
- Monitor and analyze engagement metrics to measure the effectiveness of communication efforts and make data-driven improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in content creation, digital marketing, and communications, ideally within a nonprofit or educational context.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an ability to adapt content for different platforms and audiences.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems, and basic graphic design tools.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A passion for youth empowerment, education, and promoting positive social change.
